I dunno bout anybody else .......But I germ my seeds in the dark on a heating pad ( turned on low of course ) I also watch the moisture very carefully , so I don't dry them out .

Yes. Start them off like it was daytime and begin the scheduled light period that you have chosen. For instance, if you want 18/6 light/dark, plant the germinated seeds and then turn the lights on and set them to go off in 18 hours and them come back on in another 6 hours. Also, it is smart to take advantage of "off peak" hours. This is when electricit usage is overall lower and subsequently the electricity is sligtly cheaper. This is usual during the night into the early morning hours for most electrical companies. So if your grow light will not disturb your sleeping I would recommend having the light on during this time of night.
