Hey Guys.

I can't for the life of me find out for any certainty about these switchable ballasts regarding bulbs.

I have a pair of 600w lumii digita ballasts. They are switchable from 400-600 (with super lumen options between)

Am I right in thinking I can use a 600w bulb and switch it down to 400w but also able to use a 400w bulb on the 400w setting.

Also can I switch a 600w mh bulb to 400w?

There is so much conflicting information I'm at a loss.

NO, you need to use the wattage designated for the bulb. I use a 400w MH bulb for veg. at the 400w setting. When I start the bloom cycle I switch the ballast to 600w using a 600w HPS bulb.
Hope this helps.

Also, make certain that the bulbs you use are made for an electronic ballast. Some bulbs are manufactured to be able to use both electronic and magnetic ballasts and some are made for magnetic only. Using a bulb not rated for an electronic ballast could cause problems.

Running a different wattage than the bulb is designed will change the spectrum. As per which bulb....Hortilux blue. I have noticed a big difference in growth and color since I changed to this bulb a week ago.

I start and end using Hortilux HID bulbs.
Started w/ 400w blue and changed to a 600w Super HPS in a 4x4 open grow. This is the 42nd day total and the 12th day in Bloom. OG Kush
