A new law legalizing medical marijuana could bring new jobs and attitudes about the drug to Illinois.

Lawmakers approved a bill this year to allow patients with serious illnesses such as cancer to use the drug.

Robert F. Calkin is a longtime medical marijuana advocate and president and founder of the Cannabis Career Institute. He's holding seminars for entrepreneurs interested in working in the medical marijuana industry.

Calkin says the industry has created thousands of jobs. They include growing cannabis, managing dispensaries and "budtenders" who work with patients.

He says most of the people who take his classes aren't stoners but professionals over 40 looking for a new career.

Calkin also says once people see how medical marijuana can help sick people they become more accepting of the drug.
