Medical Marijuana On Eagle County Commissioners' Agenda

Colorado – The Eagle County Board of Commissioners is seeking input on the future of the medical marijuana industry within unincorporated Eagle County. A work session is set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Citizen input is encouraged.

State legislation in effect as of July 1 requires all medical marijuana dispensaries to obtain both local and state licensing to continue operations. The law also allows local jurisdictions to put additional licensing regulations in place or to ban dispensaries entirely. Eagle County's current regulations allow for dispensaries in commercial and industrial zone districts with specific distance requirements from residences, schools, churches and other public places.

Tuesday's meeting will include a review of the legislation and its impacts it on the county's existing regulations, as well as opportunity for public comment. Those unable to attend the work session are encouraged to send comments to bob.narracci@eaglecounty.us.
