Need help with lighting!

ok ive bought myself a 14w T5 flourescent light and fixture for my first proper grow. can all fluorescent lights be used for growing? this one was advertised for use in a kitchen on ebay. thanks

Please post the equivalent wattage, and you need about 5-6.5+k lighting temperature (color) for veg and about 3k for flowering.

sorry im a complete newbie to lighting, i have no idea what equivalent wattage

im not talking about lumens, im talking about the color of the light needed, which is 6.5 Kelvin, the color temperature. Also Just A Stoner is talking about CFL's, not HPS bulbs
