New to growing does this look like a nice start

And ive also puy a layer of sand on top of the soil to kill off the nat problem

Looking good greendad...

I use white sticky cardboard at the base of the plant. That seems to catch plenty of gnats and gnat nymphs.

Is the sand helping any?

Sands heping but they moved now they come in and out of the drain holes
