Hello to my new 420 fam. I am a Ct raised SC relocated Navy Vet. Looking to advance the cause for legalization of the worlds best natural supplements!the
I have been wanting to learn how to grow at home but I only have a 650 sqft apartment. Dont know about the many strains but I am interested in those that
are not to heavy but up lifting for a busy guy. I want to start with something easy to cultivate in a closet until I can get my green thumb going. Any suggestions?

Hey welcome to the forum buddy!! I have read in more than one place that Northern Lights is supposed to be exceptionally easy to grow, and very hardy. I guess its about the ideal beginner plant. Right not im smokin on an extra special batch of Trainwreck, and from the sounds of it this smoke is right up your alley. :high-five:

ghbdirect,

I won't pretend that I can help, but this is certainly the place to get it. The people are awesome, the articles and help sections are just about dummy proof (I understood it). Check out some of the "How To" sections, some recent grow journals (mine is a mess but the advice and comments have been invaluable, turned my puny babies into healthy happy plants) Then of course, just ask. There are always lots and lots of people who will politely give advice without making you feel stupid in the process.

Best of luck!!!

:welcome:...from what i hear god's bud would be good strain to grow for closet space. As it grow's about 3 feet. I have never grew it as im new to growing but from what ive heard an seen she's a keeper!:thumb: my 2 cents..

My first grow was a closet grow with Nirvana's White Widow...I still use the closet for small plants/seedlings. I had this pic in my gallery:

223-21.jpg

I used 18 - 18 watt daylight CFLs, standard household 75w incandescent equivalent CFLs that I bought at Costco for $.99 per 6-pack, that's not counting the one on the bottom for the clones.

The problem with closet grows is that even the most compact strains grown from seed finish at around 3 ft if left to there own devices, so most people end up LSTing to make the best use of the light. Auto flowering strains stay smaller, but I don't have any experience growing those.

If you really want to grow small plants, you could keep a small mother somewhere. Then, when needed you take some cuttings, and once rooted put the rooted clones directly into a 12/12 photoperiod. They will finish right around 12-15 inches... Perfect for a closet grow!

One of our members, 420fied uses 2 liter bottles and defoliates, he ends up with I think about 15g per plant done that way. Here's the link to his current journal if you want to take a look: 2 Liter Hempy SOG

The other thing I would suggest is that you browse through the journals for closet grows...see what others are doing, and what's working for them...you might find a setup you want to try and copy.

:Namaste:
