NORML: Invitation to our Aspen Legal Seminar this June

Dear NORML Supporters,

We are pleased to announce that the details of the program and the registration information for the 2010 NORML Aspen Legal Seminar, scheduled for June 10-12 at the Gant Hotel in beautiful Aspen, CO, is now available on the NORML website:

Marijuana Law Reform - NORML Group_ID=6823

At this seminar we also permit interested non-lawyers to register and attend.

This legal seminar is approved for CLE credit by all states that require attorneys to obtain continuing legal education credits on an ongoing basis.

Those who have joined us at previous Aspen legal seminars will be pleased to know that we will once again be holding a benefit dinner on Friday evening at the lovely home of Chris and Gerry Goldstein, catered by celebrated Aspen chef Chris Lanter from Cache Cache, a popular Aspen restaurant; and we will be returning to Owl Farm, the legendary home of the late Hunter S. Thompson, on Saturday afternoon for a cookout as the guests of his widow Anita Thompson.

The legal seminar will consist of three days of lectures from leading criminal defense attorneys covering topics such as identifying and preparing evidentiary issues; inventory searches; rebutting the toxicologist and keeping your client out of jail; federalizing issues for future habeas challenges; the ethical considerations of setting fees; new ways to voir dire the jury in a drug case; new forms of electronic surveillance; important new decisions; and trying the losing case.

For those who handle medical marijuana-related cases, topics will include ethical considerations when representing medical marijuana growers, wholesalers, caregivers and dispensaries; and we will be hearing from attorneys experienced in the medical marijuana field from Colorado, California, New Mexico, Michigan, Oregon and Washington.

Again, at this seminar we also permit interested non-lawyers to register and attend.
