A Dunkirk man faces drug charges following a raid Wednesday of a Town of Pomfret residence where police confiscated 138 ounces of marijuana.

Hammad R. Zaidi, 46, was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and faces additional charges, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's office.

Dunkirk police and the Sheriff's office were assisted by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in executing the search warrant at an East Main Road in the Town of Pomfret. In addition toe the marijuana, police seized a quantity of concentrated cannabis, electronic scales, vacuum sealer, packaging materials, and a large quantity of cash, according to the Sheriff's office.

Additional charges are expected to be brought against Zaidi at a later date once the seized items have been analyzed.

Zaidi was in Town of Pomfret Court and then held at the Chautauqua County Jail pending further action by the court.
