Ontario Canada

I am currently waiting for my third MRI on my knee and I have already had two surgery's in the last 7 years. They want to operate more and they tell me I need a replacement and this cannot be done because I am only 30 and I would not be eligible until I was at least 50. I have ask my doctor about prescribing me MM, the doctor said he was not license to prescribe it and he does not know a doctor that is. He just wants to prescribe pain and sleeping pills that render me useless. Can someone point me in the right direction in finding a doctor that will see me and prescribe this for me. I currently live near London, On Canada

This part if really difficult , since you are a catagory two patient..so your GP can not sign off..but are you seeing a specialist ..etc rehumy..psych etc. they can sign off for you. But it is extremely difficult. Many of us are in the same situation and have had to resort to back to other meds. just a way of life. it sucks.

HE should he is a specialist you can also connect with other drs you have seen..This catagory two is like ..do I really want aids, cancer , ms, severe arthritis so my own doc can sign off.. and cause you and I do not have 50 posts we can not pm each other. there are alternatives but the cost is high dollar wise..so I have heard..to obtain the mmar post on relevant subjects once you reach 50 anyone can pm you ..its just part of the rules..today I am dizzy , nausea, achey ,itchy , part zombi, so today is back to bed , hard even to walk, let alone get something to eat, but that is life at the moment. But what hurts is mmar signing is basic the Dr will be following your care..does not your GP do that..mine wants to sign ..but there is no immediate..specialist...the last time it took almost a year.I am too old to defy the system, too hurt emotionally to care, with On Govt and the smart meters and the cost can not run my ac , thanks so much ..on odsp, what choice do you want..funny as it seems ..the one med ..of my choice is not covered..or will ever be..but if I choose other choices it is..fun. So word of the wise dont hold your breath waiting...

GP's are able to sign MMR's, they simply don't want to. They don't understand "dosing" and don't want to gain a rep as a prescribing dr. In Canada we don't so much have "heath care" as we have "pharma care". With "pharma" reps visiting, "wining and dining" dr's they have the greatest influence on what is prescribed to patients. There are no "patents" to be had with MJ and therefore no money.

A GP can sign off if you are a Catagory one patient ..but you need to see a recognized specialist if you are a catagory 2, that is the only way that he can sign.If you have ms, cancer, aids, eplipsey or severe arthritis he can sign off..any other tyrpe of disease he can not ..unfortuately.

He is no longer signing for medical reasons due to Health Canada saying they will no longer allow people to grow their own or buy from a licensed grower ,they want to restructure how people get it which would be through mail order.

Yes HC wants you to buy from only them..and that way they feel a control ..but anyways..you have to have the mmar approved first second then on what differences they will put into that ability is yet to see

Hi guys
My wife has just gone through the same frustration with Doctors in this province. We found a solution for her at Medical Marijuana They do charge for this but if you have the medical info required their doctor will see you via Skype and submit your forms. Our GP charged her $75 for copies of her files etc to send out there and I think the clinic costs are around $400. I have heard of a clinic in Hamilton area too but know nothing of it

Good Luck

Hi This is my first post on this forum. I live in northern ontario and am also looking for a Dr. I had heard that Dr Kammeron (sp) was suspended from signing, anyone know if this is true?
