Outdoor hydro

Is outdoor hydro possible? I live in CO, looking to start soon, the days are very nice.

I would be using a DWC / Bubbler 2 plant system. It would be in one of those plastic totes. I have electricity outside and the air pump can be covered so it won't short out


Possible? Good idea?

They make noise and everyone I know looks to see what is making that strange noise.lol Not the best idea IMO. Nothing beats good old organic soil grown outdoor bud IMO.

what if it mother nature wants to rain? Doesnt that mean they would get overwatered and the resivoir of water would over fill? If so, that probably wouldnt be a good idea, If outdoors just go with soil.

Cover your reservoir and you won't have flooding problems. I have seen remarkable results and yields from hydro outdoors!

Also make sure your res is painted black to avoid algae growing.

Anything is possible. May not be the smartest way to grow depending on where it will be but if one is determined to do it, it can be done. The biggest opstacle will be power to aireate the nutrients solution as well as pump it either to the plants or to a reservoir above the plants for a gravity fed set up so it will either be close to a power source or one will have to use solar panels, batteries and inverters. I helped a friend research outdoor hydro and we determined the noise and inability to keep it stealthy made it too risky to do. Things m ight be different in your area though. Good luck.
