pot size

the plant will get root bound, and the space between the nodes get longer, the general rule is about a gallon for every foot of plant, some people do many other ways and get good results too

So it wont kill the plant? What do you mean by root bound and what are nodes of the plant. Thank you so much for your help.

your won't kill you plant but it wiil be very stressed and acquire more looking after ie (feeding) as your plant will be drinking faster you may have to water everyday,

Root bound means there is hardly any space left in your pot for roots to grow

Will not having a big enough pot effect the quality of flowering or just the size of the plant?

Yes.:smokin: Both.

If there are roots coming out of the bottom of the pot, it's rootbound and time for a larger pot. From 1 gallon, I'd go to a 3 or 5 gallon pot.

Why be cheap with soil? I have been using the 7 Gallon smart pots, no worries. and with the massive air flow all around the pot.. never a root issue. they love the circulation!

You are growing a very beautiful plant, use the best tools for that...

Fox farms ocean floor= 15 bucks
7 Gallon Smart pot=7 bucks( reusable)
Bag of perlite mix= 15 bucks

Really very cheap for what you are attempting...
