TORONTO, Ontario – The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is the largest indoor agricultural winter fair in North America. "The Royal," as it is often referred to, has impressive attendance figures: 3,000 cattle, 1,300 horses and 300,000 people (including 40,000 school kids), to name a few. This highly prestigious event runs for 10 days until this Sunday, November 17th. People from around the world will come to see this incredibly large and diverse event.

Steeped in tradition since the fair began 80 years ago, the competition is also large and diverse... everything from sheep-shearing to the largest pumpkin is staged, judged and awarded. This year for the first time, the Royal introduced an "Organics" section and it too was judged. To the extreme delight of its owners, Hempola took the top prize for best display. Hemp food is the main focus of the display, and Hempola uniquely featured its High Protein Pancakes in combination with Beland Organic Maple Syrup from Quebec. The combo is labeled, "Canada's Newest Breakfast Tradition." Also on hand for sampling is Hempola's newest product... its Healthy Happy Brownies and its full line of award winning salad dressings.

"We're very surprised and very delighted," comments Kelly Smith, one the Founders of Hempola. "This wonderful fair is a distinctive event where a huge number of average Canadians visit to experience the diversity of agriculture. The reaction to our products and now this great award are excellent indicators that the mainstream public is starting to realize the true value, flavour and nutrition of Hempola foods."

Agricultural hemp production is relatively new in Canada. In fact it's only four years old, since the country re-introduced industrial hemp in 1998. As it turns out, Canada is quickly becoming recognized as a world leader in the production of hemp and especially hemp foods.

Hempola Valley Farms with its brand name HEMPOLA grows, manufactures and markets Canadian grown hemp seed and hemp seed oil products through national distributors throughout Canada and the U.S. and is a leading dedicated developer and marketer of hemp seed derivative products for food, vitamins and supplements, personal care, bulk ingredients and industrial products.
