Rejuvinate and reuse soil?

Each time my plants outgrow their pot or get harvested I save the dirt(promix). I sift through it taking out root mass, leaves and any other debris.
Then I add peat to compensate for the original fertilizers extra heaviness, trying to get the texture back to what it was. Then add a little perlite and vermiculite.
Then finally add the new fertilizers. Can anyone tell me if this is feasable or not. gawcrea

Yes, I do it all the time.

I actually have better results with the second go round of mix.

Thanks, do you add more of anything or use it as is. And do you take roots and stuff out or use it as is. gawcrea

I make my own mix and use 12 or so amendments. This can get pricey the first time around. Not FFOF pricey and probably less than promix, not by much though.

The beauty is, a lot of these amendments are very slow release and do not need to be re-added when you recharge the mix, or, in very small amounts.

I mainly just add N-P-K amendments to re charge the mix. Blood, Bone and Kelp Meal, along with more EWC.

Mix it all up, along with the roots and let it cook for a bit and there ya go.
