Welcome to my 2nd attempt at documenting my grow. things got a bit hectic with Covid 19 lockdown and ended up abandoning my first journal. so now we try again.

So lets start with the seeds. Something that stuck for me was that your results can only ever be as good as your seeds potential. Now there are so many choices and the amount of great genetics out there is mindblowing. Its really impossible to decide with all the those seductive descriptions of strain profiles. I've personally seen some great results from local growers using strains from Ethos Genetics and also Inhouse Genetics

I searched for the best deal i could find and came away with the following:

- 10 pack of Ethos 'Mandarin cookies'
- 3 singles of Inhouse 'Iced Out'

*suggestions for specialist growers:yummy:

If you have any experience with this bio line please share.

My aim is to keep things as simple as possible. I find these products extremely easy to work with and it really simplifies my feeding routine. The powder feed needs to be mixed into the coco. From then onwards I only need to give PH adjusted water. Every second week i alternate with one feed of the bio enhancer or explo grow. the enhancer and explogrow boosts microbial activity and nutrient uptake . I have noticed that it can tend to attract some gnats with all that organic goodness and moisture so i will be dusting the top soil with D.earth every so often and hopefully i can get a sticky trap going as well.

Time to germinate. 09/05/2020

Starting off with 5 Liter pots.
I mix 2 grams of the bio grow powder for every L of medium. I then add my myco and D.earth and end with the perlite.

Using a cup i create a space in the center to fill out with plain coco. Ive gotten good results when germinating in plain buffered coco so I am repeating what worked for me. Just being careful to not bury the seeds.

I mixed up a liter of tap water bubbled for 24H with 5ml of Explogrow and let it aerate while i sat back and had a smoke of some Durban Poison:roorrip:. Eventually proceeded to soak the centers by misting with a spray bottle. I am germinating directly into my medium so i ensured PH was in 5.9 - 6.2 range.

Seeds are tucked in and watered. I then top dressed the exposed fertilized coco with some D.earth.

Iced out got the plant tags. nothing left to do except maintain moisture level and wait.

Please if you have any tips, advice or questions please fire away

Checked the tent after getting home from work today and all 6 seeds have germinated and raised through the surface :)

Since Planting the seeds ive lifted the pots from the floor, added some stickys and just maintained moisture.

I attempted to make a clone box but didnt have the right size holesaw for the net pots. Going to give it a go tomorrow

Had a bit of time to do something else for the grow setup and after seeing some small black storage totes at a plastic warehouse I thought about doing an aeroponic cloner. I already had a small water pump and small air pump which i used for mixing feeds.

Just a matter of drilling some holes for the net pots. Also i cut the pots in half to expose the stems a bit more.

Did a few cut outs of some packaging foam i had laying around to hold the cuttings. Will replace these with proper inserts as the foam itself lets a bit of light through.

Used one cutting spot for the airpiping and cable of the pump. These were the only pots i could get right now and wouldve loved to use a smaller size.

Doing a test run with some cuttings of Mandarin Cookies and Gorilla Cheese. Holding thumbs but they looked good after day 1. Water and explogrow in the res, ph at 5.8

Hi Guys been a minute

Seedlings are up and well-ish. one of the Iced out babies from Inhouse genetics showing a mutation of sorts

One of my friends immediately started doubting the seed bank I got it from but I don't think that is fair at this stage. The seed bank in question has been around for a good amount of time to build a good reputation but would love to hear what your thoughts are.

another from the inhouse seeds

I slipped up a bit with letting the coco dry too far but misted it till saturated using a mix of kelp, explo grow and RO water.

My side project with the cloner is going good and i've started getting roots. Im happy with the amount of time it took but the cuttings themselves have gone a bit yellow with or two showing irregular brown spotting.
Any advice on what solution to use in the res or foliar spray would be appreciated.

What strain are you cloning? I am really feeling this home made cloning table

Thank you, took 8 days for roots. Think the pump is putting a bit too much water onto the stems. I feel an airstone/curtain with strong air pump would be more ideal.

Strains are mandarin cookies and gorilla cheese.
edit* I moved the air tubing and cord for pump through the side of the tub. having it go through the lid just made things complicated when changing water.

That's really cool. I am going to keep this in mind for future projects. Mandarin Cookies sounds awsome.

Roughly 6 days since showing green and the seedlings are almost established enough to start booming!

Have just been maintaining moisture of the coco with ph adjusted water at 6.2. Also have humidty at roughly 70-80%.

Day 23 from seed

Getting very cold and hitting temps up to 12deg celcius during lights on. Growth rate has been slow but will see what i can do about the temps in the next few days. I am still new to growing and this will be my first winter grow.
