I'm new to growing weed but will be moving to Colorado soon so i'm designing my growbox. So far, i'm set on a scrog setup, but an idea hit me in the shower this morning and got me thinking. Say I built a tall growbox. And say during the vegetative state I grew that plant tall, but spread out horizontally in zig-zag fashion on a vertical trellis. What if when I switched to the flowering state I turned off the light on top and used side lighting exclusively? Would that not cause the plant to grow and flower out, rather than up? Essentially what i'm thinking is a vertical, rather than horizontal scrog. Is this a bad idea or could it conceivably work with the right lighting? Would I still be better off yield-wise with a wider, shorter, traditional scrog setup?
