Suspects Flee Gunpoint Pot Plant Robbery

The robbery of a marijuana plant was foiled when its owner woke up and called police.

The victim called police at about 7:30 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 26.

Police said the suspect broke into the home and pulled a handgun on the resident, who then woke up and confronted the intruder.

"The OPP investigation indicates that the suspect fled to an awaiting vehicle that was on Old Mosley Street and left the scene with a second male. The stolen marijuana plant was left behind at that location by the suspect and seized by police," said Huronia West OPP spokesperson Mark Kinney.

The suspects left in a small grey or silver Ford Tempo-style vehicle, with black tires and rims.

Police are looking for two white men in their early 20s.

One is described as five feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with red lettering, baggy pants and a baseball cap.

The other was seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

As a result of the investigation, Old Mosley Street between 12th and 16th Streets was closed to traffic.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 429-3575 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
