switching autos on 12/12

Hello i got one question for you, im growing 5 auto skunk (strain hunters) and one auto super hash,girls are 27day old and pre flowering, my buddy who is more expert grower told me to go 12/12 when they start to flower, because he thing it wil be crowded in box.. whats your opinion?

It would be helpful if you told us the size of your growing space, lighting, etc..

Generally people don't switch to 12/12 for autos though. Not sure why your friend would say that..
