If I were you, I would buy a "Jewelers Loop", mine is in the mail right now. I bought if off of eBay for about $7 usd, it even has an LED. W/one of those, you will be able to read the trichs and calyxes better!
Also... there are a few different schools on how to determine the best time to harvest.
