Its only recommened to top a plant Twice once in early veg or after you see the 4th or 5th nodes. Then second time 1 week before flower this week gives the plant time to recover and then flower more buds.
Some will do 5th node and then at 8th node and some will do say at 6 inches and then at 12 inches.
