Transplanting Seedlings

If seedlings become very leggy (long stem), is it OK when transplanting to bury most of the stem. For example some plants like tomatoes, can be buried up to their first leaves and the underground stem will sprout roots.

Any experience with this. Thanks.

Yes you can. Just don't bury the cotyledons and you'll be good to go

Thanks for the quick reply. Can it be done as soon as it has the first true leaves? Thinking of a sturdier plant which will eventually be planted outside.

I would probably wait till you get closer to transplanting but you should be fine to do it now if it's getting to wobbly.
