Upper root system

Roots are springing out of the stem of my two week old plant in a rdwc 5 gal res.

Do I bury the new roots with clay or leave them alone?

Check out my grow for more info. I have a silicone net pot lid. Will the new roots be fine under the cover of the lid?

I noticed the one nearest the top has some fuzz on it. Please tell me that isn't mold.

I put a neoprene net pot plug over the hole for now. The stem seems strong enough..?

I'm pretty sure those were just healthy roots. I burried the rockwool a bit more and made sure my recirc tube was low enough. I also cleaned the silicone cover and replaced the neoprene plug. I think it will be just fine.

I thought I would revisit this thread incase anyone is wondering about the separate root systems of cannabis. There is an upper root system that will form above the rooter plug and it will grow along the surface of your substrate/medium. Thus, ample space for growth should be accounted for when planting. Plant the plug low enough to provide room to grow. The plant will thank you later.
