Where to Buy HPS?

Home Depot only sells the bulbs, not the ballasts. Are there any national chains or something that you guys could recommend on where to get these? Or what type of place could I go to to get one. And whats a good price for one?

Home Depot has a 250W bulb for $17, is that a good price?

250 watt hps for 17 .. shit that is good i have only seen them for like 40 .. but

I am quickly realizing that I do not know enough about HPS systems. How hard are they to setup? Are they worth buying for 1 plant or will the flouros suffice?

I'd go with flouro's for one plant dude.

yes flourlas are enough for one plant great for both stages of your plant veg and flowerin.. hps are good lights but more expensive.. they are not hard to setup but the other problem is that hps is not good for veg so if i were u i would just go wiht flourals

Sweet I was hoping you guys would say that! Im gonna start flowing in a week or two so I guess now I dont have to worry. Im gonna update my grow journal as soon as my roommate gets some batteries for his camera.

I order a 250watt hps, and everything else (ballast ect) for $75usd+shipping it only took about two days to ship too.

insidesun is where i got my 430 watt hps system for $165.00. the only thing i dont like about it is the power cord is to short.

yo man if you want you can go to home depot and get a HPS light for like 70 bucks, just have to get a wire and attach green to green red to red and ground to ground...pretty simple, you can either drill it into a wall or your cabinet, or do what im doing right now, got a camera tripd and attached it with the orginal screw and drilled couple more holes to be sure, thr tripod is good because you can make it real high and tilt it anyway you like....IM in veg with 160 watts worth of flouros and 150 watt hps, BUt this is my first grow, im no expert just thought you could use another idea..
