Will a giant planter work for multiple plants?

Say you wanted to grow 24 plants in a 10 square foot grow box... could you make one giant planter covering the floor about a foot deep for all the plant to grow in. Each plant should have one gallon of soil for itself. They will be in 12/12 from seed. Plants should be about 2 feet tall max.

I would figure 6 sq. inches per plant instead of the norml sq Foot per plant.

Hello ,,

I have one big pot for what started as 8 plants ,now down to 3-4..

If I would do over I would go for multiple pots,only so that care is easier,if roots rot can remove ,if sick wont go into other plants roots ...

My next grow will have seperate pots for sure ..

I dont want plants to be too crowded

does the planter have a way for you to manage the runoff?

I haven't built it yet, but yes I had thought about it. I was going to plumb a hose at the bottom for the runoff. This way if I ever want to go hydro it will be easier too.
