when to start seeds indoors for outside growing?

Hi there This is my first post to what appears to be a very helpful magazine. I was wondering when I should start my seeds indoors for out side growing in Atlantic Canada. We live in the Annapolis Valley in a fairly moderate climate (We can grow peaches in our back yard) and I do have a small greenhouse where I can keep them for a while but seem to come in just under the wire before frost when I harvested my first plants last year so I want to fine tune my growing this year. Any help would be very appreciated

I would say get the farmers almanac look up moon phases and plant according to the phases of the moon
