Stems thick as pencils
I did some High Stress Training this morning. It was LST for the plants. HST for me!
On the first one, I must have tied/untied/retied each stem a thousand times. I was gentle (possibly overly so), and finally settled on a plan. The second and third were easier (of course).
Clearly, this would have been easier and more productive a coupla weeks ago. Water over the dam now.
My stems are too thick to get any kind of flexibility regarding bending or "arching" them downward. The canopy therefore shadows my LSTed limbs. I think topping would help.
I would like to top them. If possible, I would like to shorten them more than just the very top, but it is unclear to me if this is wise and/or proper. Can anyone answer this question? How far down can I safely go?
