First Time Outdoor Grower in Portland - Advice?

Norcaliwood, Thanks for your input. The girls are dry at the moment and we're supposed to get a couple nice days so I'm hanging on and I too will cut the minute I see rot etc.. I totally understand my neighbors efforts and am mostly informed how important it is to keep buds dry. They know what...

First Time Outdoor Grower in Portland - Advice?

Hi Norcaliwood Your reply couldn't have come at a better time. Trying to decide to harvest right now or not. My girl's are outside on my deck again this year and these rainy days have me guessing! Three of five are mature but haven't had that last calix swell. Two are a bit behind but do show...

Help! Can't decide which portable vaporizer

Hello 420 peeps, Help! I'm stuck in the research portable vaporizers, changing my mind on which model, researching more, reading customer reviews, changing my mind, etc.... cycle. Here's my newbie take: The Crafty, Mighty - extremely expensive considering some customers aren't happy...

    Outdoor Oregon backyard grow!

just my 2 cents worth from a newb, but from the photo you posted, the 'rot' or dead spots I had looked different. It was about the brown color of the pistils and sort of looked like a clump of darkened, dried, curled up pistils. Really almost unnoticeable until the spot gets larger so your post...

    Week 5 flower outside

Stinker, I had the same issues with magnification. This is probably a duh, but what helped me was to quit trying to check trichomes on the plant and to cut a small sugar leaf and then struggle with my 60x mag indoors. I'm sure those in the know will chime in. :bump:

Again, I'm a newb but some buds look more ripe than others. If you're checking the trichomes then you know what you want. LOVE Maui :ciao:

Love the pics! Some buds sure look full of resin. I'm a total newb but have you checked your trichomes? Also, maybe I'm just seeing things but is that a caterpillar on the right side of the last photo? They look like great plants! Happy Harvest :thumb:

jddrews ~ I noticed the Pax and I'm just curious...is the 'big' vaporizer you refer to a Volcano? I apologize for the off topic comment. I'm still deciding on a vaporizer and will have to spend some time researching. :sorry:

WOW Guys! Nice job everyone. Considering this was the first year it looks pretty successful. Things I'd do differently: All of jddrews list! An earlier start but avoiding blooming too early. Pest prevention! - i thought i got away without using precautions because all I saw was an...

jddrews - Thank you for mentioning this when you did! I think mine was isolated too but the dry, 'dead' part was so close to the brown pistil color I wouldn't have caught this before it ruined the plant. Just to reassure everyone... the effected plant was compromised and I'm embarrassed to...

Sorry about the sideways pics, again. The first pic is of C99 - Halfway harvest. The second pic is of Cinderella's Dream - Halfway harvest. Cinderella 99 is a parent to Cinderella's Dream but they smell completely different. The aromas are changing as the cure continues and C99 which smelled...

Moss - I think it's a good idea to remain vigilant. After some reading and looking at photos I have to assume what I'm seeing on the one plant is bud rot. My biggest concern is how it can spread. I've decided to harvest the rest of the Cindy's in the morning since they're ripe and I want to...
