Lost two seedlings to damping off this season. (Thankfully I had a couple spare seeds.) Did some research and found out that sprinkling a small amount of cinnamon over the soil after seeds are planted will help to prevent it. Also have a small fan operating now.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I've been growing a long time, but there is still a lot I have to learn. Have the seed in a paper towel on a heating pad.
Thanks TheFertilizer. I've never had a plant hermaphrodite and assumed it would have caused more seeds. Definitely don't want one with the outdoor girls this season. But we have recently moved and have some indoor space now. I've identified male plants but haven't bothered sprouting mixed seeds...
I'm a guerilla grower and last season I noticed my Chronic Haze had two mature seeds in it. She was a big girl (or at least at my latitude) yielded about 13 oz. The Northern Lights right next to her had no seeds. So I assume she didn't hermie late. Wouldn't there have been more seeds? And there...
I've also grown Papaya. As an guerilla grower, it was a VERY carefree plant. And at the 38th latitude, I have to grow mostly indica strains. Papaya had more of a head high than the other guerilla stains I've tried.
This is the first time I've had enough privacy to flower indoors, but since last year's guerilla grow was so successful, I'm trying it again. (So successful, I was able to give each cousin an ounce for Christmas. Boy, did I get hugs and kisses!)
For a long time, we've owned a hunting cabin...
Just ordered Painkiller XL by Royal Queen Seeds. Never grown a high CBD strain before. Have a six week old Northern Lights girl. She will be the mamma to this year's guerilla grow.
One element not mentioned in this article is revenue the US Postal Service is making from cannabis sales. Any grower in California or Colorado knows not to ship via UPS. The company has the right to open and search any suspicious package. Because the USPS is run by the Feds, a warrant is...
I've had Afghani strains finished by the second week in August. Others have taken until late September. It's hard to tell. Like other plants, some ripen earlier than others.
If you're into alternative medicine, add food grade Diatomaceous Earth to your diet. A tablespoon in a glass of water...
Last year was the first chance I had to grow near our property in the middle of nowhere. But when I found a nice sunny spot in the woods, the ground was mostly rocks with sand. Needed a pick axe to dig holes. It was on a hill so keeping the soil in the hole was a challenge. Not much of a yield...
