Wait, I just talked to my buddy. He says the last grow finished up with one HPS bulb and one off the shelf metal halide bulb. This round he is using a Digilux metal halide bulb that is near the end of its useful life and a new ceramic metal halide bulb. Could the CMH bulb make that much difference?

The pump runs 24/7. The pipe is pitched downhill just a little. Pitch can be adjusted to keep water flowing. Since the pic an air stone has been added.

I made mine out of three 4' lengths of 4" PVC pipe, one 4' length of 2" PVC pipe, an old five gallon spackle bucket, some plastic hose and a little pump. Works for me. Running 12 plants now.

You need black lines to stop algae from growing. Any light thru the lines will allow algae. What is the source of your water? If it is public water and you don't pH adjust down you will have a high pH. I believe the rock wool also makes for a high pH.
