What is a good guideline about when to move from distiller to hotplate? My 1st attempt started with 2 oz good flower but my yield was very low - I suspect it was in the distiller too long and overcooked. TY.

Re: spark test Wasn't my post but I believe it is this. When near the end of solvent evaporation, bubbles appear to have stopped, dip a paperclip in the oil. Step away and try to light. If it sparks or a blue flame there is still alcohol in it and need additional evaporation time.

There are alcohol distillers with specific temperature control. Seems you could use this one device to both remove the solvent and subsequently decarb - yes? Not sure I need the hot plate. Also anyone add MCT oil mixed in just after decarb? Going to try for the 1st time - trying to find an...
