Icemud,
That's quite a nice garden you have there:thumb:
For fungus gnats, here is what works for me....
BTI and diatomaceous earth. Both are organic and safe, and pretty effective when used together.
And they won't harm the soil microbes and fungus that help feed the plants roots.
You are...
Re: Stealth, Soil, HID, Smart Pot, SCROG, GDP - First Grow
Hey, glad you folks liked it:)
A few things I'll add.....
I always err on the side of a little lighter....it's a lot easier to eat a couple more cookies if you want.... than to curl up and pray for it all to end.....and I know a...
Re: Stealth, Soil, HID, Smart Pot, SCROG, GDP - First Grow
Ah yes, edibles....moderation is the key....too much can be too much....still my preferred method for pain relief.
Here is how I make mine, the difference is that I use water also, which helps rinse the waxes and other hempy tastes...
Works great with tomatoes, less great with peppers (both nightshade family)
I tried that with a few clones in rockwool once....had endless problems with the 50% that survived.
I figured that if you could root from a cutting you should get new roots if buried deep.....did not work for me...

GF,
Very nice, glad it turned out well for you. You were right on it, never a doubt in my mind:thumb:
It's really been great watching, good luck with your mods and thanks a bunch for the show!

Since this is the organic soil section, I'll suggest another option for you....
Mix your own.
Find a good base organic potting mix...FF or Dr Earth or Gardener and Bloom or similar.....
Mix in some good organic tomato ferts with mag and cal and bone/feather meal, kelp meal, high Nitrogen bat...
CiS,
The suggestion of using something like Bora-Care on the outer wall framing/walls is a good suggestion. Boric acid based, it will penetrate and seal and protect.
I don't understand the plywood outer walls...did I misread that?
Do they really make basement outerwalls from plywood...
Hi,
I'm really not a hydro guy, but here are a few thoughts.
The muliple symptoms look like maybe pH lockout.
5.7 seems low, the stuff I read shows 5.8-6.8 for hydro. I target 6.7 for my soil.
Are you testing your solution after all nutes added, or just the water?
Your lights are only...
Hard to say, a lot depends on your soil and it's ability to buffer or maintain it's pH.
But it sound like you are on the right track.
Test your runoff, that will tell you a lot.

Great, glad to hear it :)
Yes indeed, a usb scope of your trics would be very cool.....
Ya know, I think I've read about a hundred grows on this great site, but for some undefinable reason yours stands above the others for me.
Great...
Re: Stealth, Soil, HID, Smart Pot, SCROG, GDP - First Grow
Great looking grow GF, I'm watching every day now :)
That is a great point McCrackin, and an important one to think about.
GFan, I believe that the former Sheriff in your county is on record as saying "MJ is illegal, all Prop 215...
Re: Stealth, Soil, HID, Smart Pot, SCROG, GDP - First Grow
A suggestion, maybe this grow or maybe the next....
Only have passive air intake so everything goes through the filter.
Filter the passive intake to keep out bugs and stuff, and make it at least 4X the size of the fan exhaust.
I'm...
Re: Stealth, Soil, HID, Smart Pot, SCROG, GDP - First Grow
GF24,
Your grow is looking fantastic!:)
Regarding your pH tester question....there are some standard practices you may or may not be aware of.....
Don't reuse the buffer after you test a solution. One dip and thats it, or else...
Re: Stealth, Soil, HID, Smart Pot, SCROG, GDP - First Grow
GF24,
I'm just tuning in for your latest update...so I'll contribute my opinion FWIW...
I think you did the right thing in trimming the underbrush.
I'm not an experienced INdoor grower, but I've grown outdoor vegetable and medicinal...
