It was made to fill rooms with the scent of essential oils and all that, so my thinking is that has to give off some kind of humidity or vapor

Going off hand with what I have laying around, would a diffuser varporizer running pure water bump up the humidity?

I have a Holmes HM1745 humidifier, can this still displace distilled water into the air without the filter? Is the filter necessary to make this throw water into the air? Waters clean, I only use distilled so I'm not worries about air quality.
