TUCSON - Firefighters discovered seven and a-half tons of marijuana in a Tucson home while responding to a fire Sunday.

The marijuana - with an estimated street value of $7.5 million - was stacked from floor to ceiling and wall to wall in three of the home's bedrooms.

Tucson Police Sargeant Mark Morlock says authorities found 500 more pounds of marijuana in a house connected to the larger stash.

He says the seizure was the biggest he can remember in the past 12 years.

Fire spokeswoman Katy Heiden says the house fire caused about $200,000 worth of damage and destroyed the house. She says investigators do not know if the fire was intentional.
