Someone has a lot of explaining to do after more than 2,500 marijuana plants were discovered Friday afternoon outside of San Andreas.

Calaveras County Sheriff's Department officials report a marijuana garden was found in the Golden Gate Subdivision area, along Highway 49.

The plants were removed by the Calaveras County Narcotics Unit. Reports indicate the street value of the crop was estimated at $6.5 million.
