Medical Marijuana Give-Away In Seattle

There's something new in Seattle, now that marijuana is legal there. One production house is offering medical marijuana for free, to certain patients. The company is called New Leaf Enterprises, and it's giving away a marijuana extract called CBD. Dr. Russ Saneto says CBD doesn't get you high, and it's known overseas for stopping seizures, with fewer side effects than pharmaceuticals. "In that it's working for some patients in this population that before was intractable, means that there's hope for a group of patients that couldn't be controlled in the past." Dr. Senato says more study is needed to determine the long term effects. Meanwhile, the company providing the CBD has capped the number of families it's giving free medicine to at 30. But, they hope to add more patients as they're able to increase production.
