The storefront of a Flint medical marijuana dispensary was crumbling after police suspect a vehicle was used to ram through the door in an apparent "smash and grab."

As snow began to make roads slick early Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, the door and windows of The Green Bean, located at 1625 W. Atherton Road, were off kilter, shattered in places, and part of the brick building was crumbling.

"It looks like it was a smash and grab. Someone had ran a car into it and attempted to steal some stuff inside," said Detective Sgt. Jay Parker with the Flint Police Department.

Parker said although it appeared someone had made it inside, nothing was reported missing.

"They were definitely looking for money," he said, adding that no marijuana or cash, aside from that in the ATM, are kept on the premises overnight.

The Green Bean remains open for regular business hours. Shop owners declined to comment.

No further information has been released.

The investigation was ongoing as police began reviewing surveillance camera records of the incident, Parker said.
