New clones did I over light them?

While setting up new store-bought clones, we set the light about 1" from the plants. Overdriven T5 6500K fluros X4 giving 20,000 L.

When I noticed one got too hot (100F) for a few min, I took it out and added water (noob mistake)

So now I'm down to 1 5400L T5 6500K about 2" from the plants.

I've looked all over and it seems I should be MUCH further from the plants or much less Lumes.

These clones are about 6" ... Pretty big for clones I guess, Didn't see the roots because someone else transplanted so I assume based on the size that they are well rooted already, just need to get rooted into the new pots.

It's a bag-dirt potting soil / non-hydro setup.

Q. How close should my lights be?

Q. Is 20,000 L too much for newer clones?

I know I've over watered the one, so that should recover in a few days from what I've read.

I'll see if I can post some pics later.

You don't want to slam clones or seedling right way. I suggest back the lights off your plants for a couple weeks. It might be a little too intense right off the bat .... which could make them dry out much faster.
