New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will decide by Friday whether to sign into law a bill that would make it easier for children to obtain medical marijuana.

Christie made that promise to the father of a 2 1/2-year-old girl who has a rare form of epilepsy during a campaign appearance in Scotch Plains on Wednesday.

Brian Wilson asked Christie why he hasn't signed the bill that would ease restrictions for youngsters.

The Record newspaper reports Christie told the father, "I know you think it's simple, but it's not."

Meanwhile, New Jersey's lone medical marijuana supplier reopens Thursday.

Greenleaf Compassion Center in Montclair has been closed for seven weeks while its owners replenished their depleted supply of pot.

This is great news! I don't live in New Jersey. I live in Philadelphia and I have a few friends that are suffering from debilitating non curable neurological disorders. The more I talk to different social workers and resident of New Jersey I am seeing how truly progressive and aware of the needs of the citizens the state of New Jersey is. Glad to hear Greenleaf Compassion Center is almost ready to open and I have heard discussion of a 2nd dispensary opening soon. I keep writing my current Governor Corbett (against legalizing marijuana) to sign the 3 bills(SB 528, SB 770, SB 1003) on his desk to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes and decriminalization. We have an election coming up for Governor so if anyone can help me "weed" out the candidate who supports MMJ I'd appreciate it.
