Abbotsford marijuana activist Tim Felger, whose Bradner Road home was
raided by police last month, isn't content to let the issue of
legalization rest.

"I don't agree that we can't do anything," he said, while also
announcing that a pro-marijuana rally will be held in Abbotsford May
4, joining with thousands across the country.

The event begins at 1 p.m. at Mill Lake before a march to the
courthouse, culminating at 4:20 p.m. with the "lighting of a symbolic
joint."

Since the raid on his property at the first of January when police
also removed a sign containing a pro-marijuana message, Felger says he
has received widespread support in his fight.

"A lot of national people are urging me to do this," he said. "And I'm
going to keep inviting them here."

Felger has since replaced the sign with one that calls on Abbotsford
Mayor George Ferguson and MLA Randy Hawes to address the marijuana
question before someone gets hurt.

"If I have to run for mayor or whatever (I'll do whatever) I have to
do to change it."

The May 4 rally will be promoted through 10,000 flyers and a billboard
Felger has prepared to ensure a healthy turnout.
