First grow continued

7/22/14

Yeah. This is a grow journal. But hey - I don't want to put all this out there in a real journal until I am more experienced and can somewhat succeed at getting past the sprouting stage.

:reading420magazine:

2 items of note:

1) My one and only little sprout was left unattended under the SAD lamp all day. No heating pad - I don't trust it when I'm gone. I was called to jury duty, ended up being an alternate. Had to listen to a domestic violence case and then go home without knowing the verdict.

Anyway, I took this little guy out into the sun as soon as I got home, but it's a boiling 87 degrees here, so I don't want to leave him (Her? Fingers crossed) out too long. The leaves were a bit droopy and it looks like the emerging 2nd pair of true leaves are stuck in the same spot. Slow growing. I hope the droop is just the lack of decent lighting, because...

2) My email tells me my Diamond series LED has shipped and should be here tomorrow

:cheer:

I have been waiting for a decent grow before I re-arrange the spare room to fit a plant (hopefully plants someday), and so I'm not out too much energy if this sprout is a fail.

Oddly, I'm sort-of attached to this little guy :dreamy: I wonder if anyone else falls for their plants LOL - Seems like it from what I've read

Well, I keep reading up on here, and so if the lack of good light is not the reason for the drooping leaves and slow growth I'll have to take a look at driving to the big city for better choices in soil it think (?)

Thanks all for sharing your grows!

:peace:

Hey Catman12!

Thanks for the kind words on my journal :)

As for your tiny sprout, I think your LED will help. It's possible you just got a week little seedling. Sometimes it happens. In my current journal, I popped 4 seeds, one of which I dropped. It was about 2 weeks before she started to grow again after the dropping and she's growing very slowly now. She's under the same light, and in the same soil as the other 3 and she's really tiny. I thought I had just set her back, but now I think I may have just dropped the weak one.

Keep your head up, Talk sweet to her, and start a grow journal in the forums.

If she's still alive, she damn well might make it. I would suggest just leaving her be for a while. I am fortunate enough to have a couple of very experienced growers as friends in the real world, and on this site :) They ALL told me. "Keep your damn hands off her" Most new growers kill their plants with kindness.

If you start a grow journal in the forums, There are some truly great growers that will be able to help you. There is nothing wrong with being new to growing and there is a whole lot to learn. Too much to learn fast enough on your own. So, don't go it alone. Start a journal, invite the growers you look up to, and before you know it, you'll have a very successful grow going!

If this seedling doesn't work out, maybe you could try a simple hydro setup, perhaps and Ebb n Flow system like mine. Super cheap and easy to build and quite effective.

Either way, stay positive and she'll come around :) Welcome to :420:

Hey thanks for the encouragement SweetLeef. It's great you took the time to stop by my Blog. I wanted to keep a Blog so I could document/remember what I did right and wrong. IDK about a Journal (??!!??) You have a lot of skill keeping up with it, I don't know if I can keep a plant alive yet -- but you're right - 420 is an awesome community with so much to share.

Anyway - you're also right about keeping my hands off - I just mentioned in my last entry that I've never done well with plants because I over do trying to keep them alive. Ha! :peace:
