  • Have been on here for a while. Summer time in sunny southern Cal isn’t usually a strong point for my garden. No ac /climate control and a 600w hps combined with consecutive high 90’s 100’s days usually makes for jacked up garden.

So undecided this year to what to do either put my babies outside, break down an get an ac unit, or finally try an led. Caterpillars suck, electric bill in the summer even worse, so I decided to get an LED light. Very skeptical hps has always been the best except in for summer. I have to say I am beyond happy I did. Unbelievable so far and still a few weeks left . Less electricity , cooler, and can’t say for sure until I try then out but could even better quality and quality. I will post some pics on my media.

Ok thanks I putting up a few pics from today. It has been blazing hot the last week and can’t believe how the garden is moving right along. A few burnt leaves but with my hps they would have been crispy. Thanks again for the nice comments and your help ✌🏻
Awww thanks, and sorry haven’t been on here in months. Crazy you sent me those on my birthday 😊. Thanks again and I will check them out.

Thank you I had a great birthday. I was able to do absolutely nothing haha. That’s what I wanted the most. And thank you for the links I appreciate it. I hope you have a great weekend 😊.
Worst two week vacation of my life had to lay to rest my 10 year old male dog today due to bone cancer. This post comes at a sad time. Just finishing the last round I thought I would share. 2022 has had a rough start even though I have known the last month this was coming. Hopefully everything gets better. Once again trying to attach pics on this is asking for a url which to much work to write down the Picture number and I’m not even sure that will work so I’m attaching some new pics on my media. ✌

I'm sorry for your loss:rip: Animals are always so much more trustworthy, loving, and caring, etc. Sad to say, but with COVID not going anywhere anytime soon, we humans have demeaner ourselves, and have lowered all of our expectations and we as Americans have lost all gratitude for our country. The legalizing of marijuana, one of the biggest movements for the people of the United States of America, finally have WON. Yes, the data is in and we finally won. Before you know it, it will be federally legalized for recreational use in all states. Just like Elon Musk always says over and over when he speaks or during his interviews, the main problem with the world is slow bandwidth is and the rules and regulations on everything and how long it takes for anything to get approved . There's on thing we don't regulate and that's data‍♂️‍️. Example, in 1950 they made seatbelts, but didn't require it by law until 1968 after millions of people died. Sad but true, love that song BTW

Thank you, sorry haven’t been on here for months. I appreciate the nice comments. And that’s great news. It’s about time. Reminds me of an old reggae song back in the day. In the late 80’s listening to it thought maybe some day. One of my favorite parts when he sang “ there will be , no more need to run and hide, when your taking a legal ride.” Finally something is changing for the good of mankind. Who knows maybe now they will even make some breakthrough medical findings that can actually reach the people in need. ✌🏻
Finally seems little over 9 weeks goes so fast but looking back it did seem like it took forever just finished 2 still need a little longer. Happy New Years everyone I hope this is a great year for all. ✌….. damn once again I can’t attach pics here it wants me to do a url can’t I just attach pics I took from my phone? Cool thanks I will try it
Not sure if I’m putting this in the right section lol. However I guess I start with the easiest way. I was wandering the difference in 600watt hps vs an equivalent led light. I recently started using a regular led shop light for cloning and getting them ready to put under my 600 hps. I used prior flourecent lights and honestly the led seems to work just as good. I am curious if the flowering and maturing of the plants would be similar, not as good, or better? Seems like less electricity and less heat to achieve the same results is to good to be true. Specially i do not run an ac so certain times a year I run into heat issues. If anyone has used both I would love to hear your experience and what you prefer. Thank you

Nice, thanks yeah I have been thinking of trying one out. I have read good things on them however it’s better to hear from someone that has used both. I have been contemplating getting a little ac/dehumidifier just to run on the hit months. But of course that’s when my electricity is the highest everyone is using. So that would ideal if it produces the same quality . And yeah he’s horrible for pics. To get the best pics I wait until right before they go to sleep and then when lights out I snap some. With the flash really shows the characteristics nicely. I’m into the perfect time for my situation Weather wise so I’m going to let it ride but I am going to try soon when weather heats up again. That would be perfect less energy and 80’s temp instead of 90’s and 100’s.

    Thanks for the reply

I wish we had 90's & low 100's. I could grow outdoors then. I'm in AZ. so summer temps are scorching hot. I'd say about 117 F most the time. I use a small 22 pint humidifier in my tent during Flower only. Stays right around 35% RH. I use a portable AC too. If you set your AC down to 68F during the last 3-4 weeks of Flower it brings out any colors that strain might have.

Wow 117 that’s tough, if it’s low 90’s I can get by and I don’t notice much of a difference difference but high 90’s or in the hundreds I definitely notice a difference and so true even under 80 the colors come out so nice. I think im going to try the led for the 4 months that it gets California hot lol. AZ dry heat a whole different level. And if it doesn’t work out for my situation then I will try a portable ac. But summer we use a lot of energy so using less energy and keeping it cooler by 10 degrees might be the perfect fit.
