I think I've seen it in a book somewhere, I'd say just make sure it's nice and clean before you use it and you'll be ok. I think people don't use it because it's so light weight that it starts floating when you water sometimes. Not the best choice IMHO but seems like a cost effective solution...

Some folks on this forum use apples and bananas to influence the sex. Smokin Moose has an article on how to do it before planting. There's some that just put apples and bananas by their plants and have seen very good results. Look it up and put it to good use! :peace:
