Roadside drug and alcohol testing helps save lives, but there are legitimate questions around marijuana.

Recently, Lismore magistrate David Heilpern described the current testing for cannabis as a 'mystery and uncertain-by-design.'

He made these observations when he found Joseph Ross Carrall not guilty of drug-driving.

Mr Carrall had been pulled over by a police and tested positive for THC, nine days after smoking a joint.
