Best lights to produce 1 pound every month in continual harvest?

Hey guys/gals
I'm looking to build a grow box for flowering! Ruffy 5 feet from front to back, and 6-8 feet from side to side and up to the ceiling which I believe is 8 foot. I have no idea what lights I should use! Would a 1000 watt HPS/MH be enuff if I stuff the area packed to produce a pound a month? If its more the better! I already have a great veg area to create enuff clones to fill it but, stuck on the light situation. I'm not sure if one big light would be enuff or go with a few 400 watt or 600 watt! That's where ya'lls experience comes to play! If ya'll need more details let me know! I don't have any details set in stone yet so the sky's the limit!
Thanks all

Happy growing!

5x6=30 sq ft....you can do fine with a 1K....however 40 sq ft is dpwn to 25 watts a ft
either measurement will work... but more light is more better.
Ive grown my biggest crop on 27 watts a ft so dont worry.....4.5 lbs
I have stepped up my lighting to 50-80 watts per ft and its paying off

nice base to go off pit.. I'm getting 50w/sqft and I would honestly say this is the lowest you really want to go. Like you said, you can go lower and still get bud, but you won't be anywhere near as happy as if you had 50w over each foot of space.
