BHO vacuum purge set-up

Whats up guys, I just got all the components to my vacuum purge set up, and I thought I would quickly share my method of making what turned out to be some chronic connoisseur grade ear wax...please give give advice or info on how to improve this method.

First off this was about 2oz of blackberry kush trim and shitty pop corn nugs, which yeiled a little less then 2 gs.. I think its because I I run the butane for a short time threw the extractor, I do this so I dont saturate the pyrex pan with overkill butane.

I started my packing my honey bee extractor very tight tight and running about half a can of 5x refined butane threw it into my pyrex pan, evaporated the liquid butane on the stove by putting the pan in a larger pan full of water, whipped it slowly, more of a stir really, whipping fast disturbs the terpenes, effecting taste and smell.

Once I feel the butane had evaporated as much as possible I scrape it on to some Parchment paper and set it in the vacuum chamber and turned on the pump. which is a 2 stage 3 CFM which works great even with a 3 gallon chamber.

The setup, as you can see the pump gets to -29hg

This is as good of a photo I could get when it was expanded into a full muffin.

End product after about 4' 1min vac sessions and 2, 5min sessions just at full vac with the pump going.
Also those are not bubbles but craters the popped butane crated, leaving only a clear milky brown wax.

Also Im realizing as im smoking this oil, how potent it really is. compared to none vac purged oil Im taking about 1/2 the size dab as I would usually...this stuff is just incredibly pure, which makes up for the somewhat lighter yeild.

Hey Green-collar, I actually have a BHO thread going where I list my experience and what I've learned.

You got a fantastic pump, two stage is the way to go! Also the vacuum pot is great too, NGWgreenthumb (i think that's the name) uses those and I've had my eye on them for a bit.

I would recommend something other then that bee extractor I think those are made from plastic?

Also, when you vacuum purge you want to keep the oil as warm as it was during the heat purge. And when you say stove you mean outside I hope? NEVER purge INSIDE.

Just my 2 grams I'm actually blasting 4 oz today and it's heat purging now

thanks for your 2 grams JJB haha, the honey bee extractor is supposed to be made of some sort of plastic that does not leakk harmful chemicals into your oil, but I have been thinking about switching to glass, also JJB how long do you heat purge for, this morning I took about 6 tabs and got a head ache and my lungs started to hurt, and im thinking I didnt heat purge it long enough, also it is getting quite greasy...though I have tried catching it on fire with a lighter and it does not combust..

I'll usually heat purge until there are no longer any large butane bubbles anymore. Also keep temp around 100F or you can burn your product.

Ideally you'll want a shatter consistency that is very stable, meaning it is easy to break apart, not real sticky, pretty much see-through.

Not bad! Like ur pump. Mine was cheap only gets up 2 23hg. Anyway should have a virtual vac purge smoke out !

Looks like it may have muffin'd up on you a bit. In my experience, ideally you'll want to avoid that, just a heads up

My oil comes out of the vac perfectly clear without bubbles ( usually do 3-4 rounds in the vac) then I whip it then into the freezer. Leave it for a hour, take out whip again then you have a more hash like substance that's neither hard nor sticky! Super potent and easy to work with

And I always purge inside although I have heard of blow ups... aslong as you are by yourself and don't light a lighter your fine ( never trust anyone in the room with you)

I would absolutely NEVER purge inside, only vac it's completely wrong to do it inside.

Only thing about whipping is that it can trap butane + makes your product degrade much faster.

Its cold outside where I am Pretty much year round. So inside is the place. Anyway as long as it is pre vacuumed than there is minimal butane to trap anyhow. And in terms of degradation of my product. Never last all that long anyway. Its all I smoke for the most part and never made huge batches. 10g of bho is the largest.

Nothing else quite has the same high I find. Not as clear. After a j-bird I feel run down almost , dry eyes and the whole bit. Not with potent extracts!

I agree overall, it gets to the point and it's technically vaporizing.

Sometimes they can have a bad come down, however a great Sativa shatter and I'm buzzing great.

The key here ( at least from my medical stand point) is to not come down as they say. To keep a healthy stable bake every hour to hour and a half. As well I can't stop experimenting with my batches. I do it the same a few times around then change my method. I guess its what lead to the vac purge. Anyway I keep making the product more personalized every time and I like what I create even if its not the best

yo that oil looks bomb, where did you get the vacuum set up? Including the chamber and the gauges and the plexi glass thing all of it

I got the vac chamber, plexi glass and gauge and hose all included, and I got the pump from harbor freight, I splurged and got the 2 stage which is only a little bit more... came out to about $250 for everything if i remember correct.

Hey guys finally was able to give the vac purge another go around after much more research. what I came up with was a heated vac purge, I set the vac chamber on top of an electric skillet while it vac purge for 8 hours..

The ratio of this batch was kinda of Insane/sad..173 grams of C grade super silver haze (got this plant 3 weeks into flower and grew like shit ever since. and final oil weight was 6.2 grams.

Shit super silver haze, mega size had the potential for greatness.

Not whipping the buds, but stirring them.

First initial muffin from the oil

About 2 hours in.

Oil porn..after 8 hours in a heated vac purge, 6.2 grams of honey comb wax chronic.
