FIM technique

I'm looking to multiply the tops on my plants soon. A friend told me about the FIM technique. I am supposed to cut all but 1/8 off the growing top and it supposedly splits into 2 tops. Will this work? Anything else I need to do?

never heard it called FIM but, yes it works and no there is nothing else you need to do. just make sure to give it a week or 2 before putting it in to flowering so you don't over shock it.

well before I did FIM, I was going to cut the top completley off a few times over to help bush growth. I don't plan to bud it soon so I should be alright.
