The former operator of a Fresno medical-marijuana dispensary is behind bars again over an alleged plot to kidnap a Fresno city attorney.

Rick Morse was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of battery and attempted kidnapping Thursday.

The Fresno Bee reports that Morse was wanted on two no-bail warrants stemming from an incident in May when authorities say he tried to arrest Fresno deputy city attorney Michael Flores in front of the Fresno County Courthouse.

Flores had filed the city's injunction that led to the closure of Morse's medical marijuana dispensary in May.

In an ongoing battle with Fresno officials, Morse was jailed and released three times in May for violating a court order prohibiting him from selling marijuana.

It was not known if Morse had retained an attorney in the latest case.
