I only grow in soil so if thats how your going to grow just get your soil water but not soaking wet. Dig a small hole in the center of the container about a 1/4'' down and place the tap root down and cover with soil(be carefull) and give a little water on top. Also make sure your PH is ok, I use distilled water. Hope that helps.
