Get up and close with your buds: iPhone & Mac users

Did you know that you can use your iPhone and mac as a great way to check out your trichomes? Add in a jeweler's loupe for an even better look. Here's how:

1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac. Many times this works over wi-fi too, but the cord seems more stable and reliable.

2. Open "QuickTime Player" (cmd + spacebar: type in QuickTime Player)

3. File > New video recording

4. You should see a screen that looks like the screenshot below. Next to the record button you will see a down arrow, click on it and select iPhone.

5. Next, open the camera app on your iPhone. Switch to the rear facing camera and set the phone down on a flat surface.

6. While watching the live display in your QuickTime window, set the loupe lenses over the camera. If your loupe has a light, turn that on as well.

7. hit record on QuickTime and start holding your buds over the lenses. You can move the bud around to also get a better view of your bud from different angles!

8. When you're done, stop the recording. Go through the recording frame by frame (just use your arrow keys) and observe the trichomes. You can also zoom in on your iPhone as well, but I wouldn't recommend anything higher than 5x.
