If it's fresh kind...like fresh fresh.....then I use my small clip scissors.
If it's my regular stash for a week or so....then I use a wooden mini-grinder. It saves me on my arthritis and can make it much easier to roll one up or pack a bowl or two.
but NOTHING beats a coffee bean grinder...
they are like 10-20 bux, sold at walmart, everywhere..
made by mr. coffee, sunbeam, etc...
just make sure not to press it down too long..
for smoking...just tap it a few times...or the herb will get too chopped up...
for cooking...hold it down and turn it into powder...
